The 'V' in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina
V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.
In 2008 V-Day will celebrate their 10th year anniversary.
How you can help:
Do you want V-Day in your community? You can bring it there, by organizing a V-Day event! Every year V-Day events take place at hundreds of locations around the world. They take place in churches, town halls, theaters and arenas. These events are organized by local college students and local volunteers -- people just like you.

94 cents of every dollar you give goes straight to ending violence against women and girls. V-Day operates as a "virtual organization" so that we keep administrative costs low. V-Day's small staff works in regions throughout the U.S. and around the world to empower local networks and volunteers to raise awareness and funds to end the violence. Eve Ensler, V-Day's founder and artistic director, volunteers her time, creative energy and vision to lead us, and together with our worldwide group of dedicated organizers has raised over $40 million and educated millions about the issues of violence against women and girls.
